We’re both happy and honored you have decided to join us for Weight Watchers® for Free – Bootcamp! We have researched over 700 blog and
forum posts from Weight Watchers subscribers who were successful on the Weight Watchers PointsPlus® system. We gathered all our research
then organized and assembled it in an informative series. We're very excited about it and hope you are too.
Note: Weight Watchers' current program "Beyond the Scale" uses SmartPoints®. You can only follow the SmartPoints® plan by attending Weight
Watchers meetings or subscribing to Weight Watchers online. While our regular weekly Shrinking On a Budget Meal Plans include
SmartPoints, we will be showing you how to do the former PointsPlus® system in this newsletter series.
We will be providing you with all the information you'll need about how to follow the former Weight Watchers PointsPlus® plan for free. We'll walk
you (step by step) through the basic concepts and rules of the program. Then we'll share tips, loads of recipes and strategies from those who have
successfully followed the Weight Watchers Points Plus® program.
As you see, there are already numerous Bootcamp newsletters on the Lifetime Meal Plan Portal. Newsletters will be added daily (until we reach #30).
Since the newsletters will be on the Meal Plan Portal, you can take things at your own pace, jumping ahead if you feel ready.
Important Legal Stuff Before We Begin
This Weight Watchers® for Free - Bootcamp program has been in the works for over two years. One of the hurdles that we had to
overcome before sharing was legal concerns. Since we are merely sharing easily obtainable research, we are not violating any copyright laws. At
the bottom of every newsletter will be our full legal disclaimer, but below is the shortened version.
*LEGAL DISCLAIMER: This is intended only to be an informative newsletter. We highly recommend that you see your doctor before beginning Weight Watchers® or any other plan
to lose weight. If you have any kind of a health issue whatsoever, it is imperative that you see your doctor before beginning the program. We are not physicians and cannot
comment on the safety of this plan for your specific circumstances. We are not affiliated with Weight Watchers® in any way. We also must legally state that the only way to
officially follow Weight Watchers® is to attend Weight Watchers meetings or subscribing to Weight Watchers® Online. What we will be showing and teaching you are the
principles behind the previous Weight Watchers Points Plus® system that we have learned through online research. We also must inform you that we are not authorized or trained
Weight Watchers® leaders.
About Weight Watchers
Weight Watchers is gaining in popularity - and for very good reason. The plan fits into your Real Life - and it WORKS. No food is off limits. As Oprah
says, you can eat bread! And chips! You simply watch your portions and count Points Plus®. Don't be intimidated by the "counting" since we'll
walk you through it literally step by step.
We will be providing you with all the information you'll need about how to follow the former Weight Watchers Points Plus® plan for free. So keep
that in mind should you try to find calculators online yourself or purchase any tools or apps. Weight Watchers® recently introduced the
SmartPoints® program and there is a (very old) Points® program. You will be following concepts and using tools for PointsPlus® .
We'll even show you a Simple Start program for your first two weeks - to make the transition into Weight Watchers
Although most of the information in the newsletters is based on research, and not our opinion, we can speak from experience with
Weight Watchers. All 5 of us on staff here are in maintenance mode with Weight Watchers®. The plan has obviously worked for us. We think
flexibility is one of the reasons. We all have our different strategies for using the daily Points Plus®, the Weekly Allowance and the Activity Points.
But that is the beauty of the Weight Watchers plan. It isn't a diet. It is a lifestyle. So, to some degree, you can customize
how you work the plan to suit your lifestyle.
The only thing holding many back from following Weight Watchers is the steep cost.
Although we always recommend the support that comes from joining the Weight Watchers program, you can do Weight Watchers® at home very
effectively - thanks to hundreds who have posted instructions and tips online. Maybe you live in an area where Weight Watchers® isn’t available.
Or maybe you just don't want to spend the money or can't afford it. Following the diet at home is easy with our step by step instruction.
Most information we will be providing about doing the Weight Watchers PointsPlus® system for free is based on Internet
research, not our personal opinion.
How the Weight Watchers® PointsPlus Concept Works
On the Weight Watchers PointsPlus® plan, everything you eat or drink has a PointsPlus® value that is calculated based on the nutritional value of
the food. We'll help you calculate a daily target for how many PointsPlus® you can eat each day (that is determined by your current weight, height,
and the amount of weight you want to lose).
We'll discuss how to quickly calculate your Daily PointsPlus® limit in Newsletter #3.
In addition to your daily limit, you have an additional 49 Weekly PointsPlus® allowance to use as you wish. You can use them for one big splurge
for a special occasion, throughout the week, or not use them at all to lose weight more quickly. You can also earn extra PointsPlus® by exercising
and it is up to you whether you use those or not. These points are known as Activity Points. Activity Points will be covered in detail in a future
Stay between the lines with your PointsPlus® allotment and you lose weight! It's that simple.
One of the motivating parts of the Weight Watchers diet is the accountability (and healthy "pressure") that comes from weighing in at weekly meetings.
Since you are going to do Weight Watchers at home (and won't have that meeting weigh in your tool belt), it is critically important to find a way to create
accountability. We've got you covered with four different ways you can create that sense of accountability while doing Weight Watchers for Free. We'll
cover those in a future newsletter.
This is a brief overview. We'll slowly walk you through all the steps. This first newsletter is designed to assure you that
YOU can do this!
What You'll Need
We'll be providing you access to all the online calculators you'll need to follow Weight Watchers for Free. You will, however need to have two
things in order to follow the program we'll cover in the newsletters.
- Access to the Internet (you'll need this for the newsletters and all the online tools we'll be referencing throughout the newsletter)
- Access to a Digital Scale (you'll need this for accurate weekly weigh-ins to track your progress). You don't necessarily need to go out and buy
- one (there might be one at your gym, work or church or a friend's house), just be sure you have reliable access on weigh-in day.
- Optional Food Scale (helpful but not necessary) - this is useful for accurately measuring foods so you don't have to guesstimate. You can get
- one for under $10 at Walmart or through Amazon Prime. Target has several under $15.
